Support to quit smoking
From 1st July 2007, all public places and workplaces became smoke-free in England, with the exception of a limited number of exemptions under the Smoke-free (Premises and Enforcement) Regulations 2006.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust has been committed to operating a Smoke Free Policy to promote a healthier working environment and work force from the 1st of January 2006.
The Trust, through the Health & Wellbeing department and Smoking Cessation Services will actively support any member of staff wishing to give up smoking which has clear health benefits, which is why the NHS Long Term Plan details a number of practical actions to help people kick the tobacco habit.
There are a number of services to support staff, patients and visitors to quit smoking including:
- Smoke Free Sefton – We’re here to help you stop smoking. For good.
- Find Your Local Stop Smoking Service (LSSS) – Better Health – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
- Stop smoking – Lancashire County Council
In addition to the services listed, you can download the quit smoking NHS app:
