Attending Board meetings

Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe meetings of the Board and meetings of the Strategy and Operations Committee. These are meetings is held in public, not public meetings.

Questions from the public

If a member of the public wishes to raise a question, they must email the question to the Corporate Governance team or telephone 01704 704 4783 no later than 5pm on the Monday prior to the meeting.

An issue will not be deferred because members of the public cannot be present for the meeting.

Board papers

The Trust recognises its corporate responsibility to sustainable development and reduction of its carbon footprint, and sets the example for this by conducting paperless meetings.

Whilst a limited number of printed board packs will be available at the meeting, we would prefer that members of the public use the electronic versions where possible, enabling us to minimise costs associated with printing papers.

If you do require a hard copy of the papers to be available at the meeting, please contact the Corporate Governance team at least two working days prior to the meeting.

The Board meetings

On arrival, please make yourself known to the Corporate Governance team.

A nameplate for each Board member is displayed on the table to help you identify who is speaking. The Board will consider the items on the agenda in turn. Members may not actively discuss each item in detail. This does not mean that the item has not received careful consideration. It may be because the matter has been discussed in detail at Board committee level or because no-one wishes to challenge the recommendations being made.

Each paper will include a front sheet which outlines the summary and the recommendation to the Board.

For further information please contact:

Members of the public are welcome to take written notes at the meeting, but cannot record the proceedings in other ways.
