Right Arrow Donation to physiotherapy department - PR/35/0506
26 January 2006 at 09:44
Five employees from BAE Systems at Salmesbury and Warton presented a cheque for £550 to the physiotherapy department at Southport & Formby District General Hospital. Last July they rode from Manchester to Blackpool a total of 60 miles. The five riders were Tom Leigh, Ray Taylor, Steve Seed, Dave Jarman and Trevor Dent. Tom’s wife Fiona was injured in a horse riding accident 4 years ago last August and was a patient on the Spinal Injuries Unit for 3 months. “We were so impressed with the physio treatment Fiona received, that we wanted to provide a piece of equipment for the department,” said Tom at the presentation. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the physiotherapy department, Jean Axon, Rehabilitation Manager said, “We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to this donation, and to the five riders for their effort. The money will indeed be put towards a piece of equipment for patients of the Spinal Unit to help with their rehabilitation.” Notes to Editors Pictured were left to right: Pradip Sett, Director of the Spinal Injuries Unit; Tom Leigh; Ray Taylor; Jean Axon, Rehabilitation Manager.
