21 April 2005 at 15:20
Thanks to the generosity of the League of Friends of Ormskirk & District General Hospital, a new £75,000 Ultrasound scanner has been installed in the Radiology Department at the hospital.

The League of Friends has donated a total of £50,000 towards the new machine. Jane Williams, Superintendent Radiographer said, “We are extremely grateful to the League of Friends and to May Oxford in particular for the fantastic donation. It will make a great difference to the radiology department. It will be used to scan babies hips, to scan abdomens and to scan smaller areas such as thyroids, testes etc.”

May Oxford, Chair of the league of Friends added, “I’m very grateful to all our benefactors and everyone else who has donated to this good cause. The League of Friends is always looking for new members, and if any one is interested in joining us and making a difference to their hospital they can phone me on 01695 573866.”
