19 May 2006 at 15:20
The Southport & District Province of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes have made a very generous donation of £4,464.49 towards cancer care at Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.

The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes is a Charitable Organisation which is active, not only in its local community, but, at all levels of Society. It is non-political, and does look to religion to inspire participation. It does, however, inspire members to commit to a peaceful and meaningful way of life. Colin Levens, who was the 2005 Provincial Grand Primo said, “Whoever is Primo nominates a charity for the year and tries to raise as much as possible during the year. I would like to thank all the members of the Buffaloes for buying all the raffle tickets each week and for the people who came to the social evenings.”

Professor Kiire, Lead Clinician for Cancer Services at the Trust added, “We are extremely grateful to Colin and his fellow Buffaloes for this most generous donation. It will be used to help purchase some much needed equipment to help us in the care of our cancer patients.”
