WELCOME TO THE PATIENT ADVICE & LIAISON SERVICE (PALS)
As a patient, relative or carer you may need to turn to someone for help, advice and support. This is where the PALS service can be of help to you. We can help you to sort out any concerns you may have about the care we provide and guide you through the different services available from the NHS.
The service aims to:
- Advise and support patients, their families and carers
- Provide information on NHS services
- Listen to your concerns, suggestions or queries
- Help sort out problems quickly on your behalf
Anyone can use this service – it is free and confidential
PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLETS are available in the main entrance to Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, covering a range of medical conditions, support groups, and general information and travel information. Patient Information leaflets are also available in the outpatient department and various departments throughout the Trust.
More often than not, one of our volunteer WELCOMERS will be available at the main reception to give patients and visitors a warm welcome and to help you find your way around the site. They will also be able to assist you with provision of a Wheelchair, if required.
