Then come along to Baby Day on March 4th at Ormskirk Hospital On Saturday 4th March 2006 Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust are hosting Baby Day for The National Childbirth Trust for Southport, Formby & Ormskirk at Ormskirk Hospital. The event will start at 11.00am and finish at 4pm and is being held in the Antenatal Clinic area on Level 2 (ground floor). All are welcome, just come along! This is an educational day covering everything from birth to early parenthood. All expectant parents are welcome to attend and collect information on services and help available for pregnancy, birth and post-natal support. GMTV’s Kathleen “Woody” Wood is supporting the event. Woody is now pregnant with her third child and wanted to show the National Childbirth Trust her support, as they were a lifeline to her when she moved to Southport and didn’t know anybody at the time. Woody said “This is a great idea, particularly for new mums and parents to see what is out there. Especially for 1st time mums who don’t know what you need for your baby and you can get lots of help and information for what would be unknown territory to them. Also, it is a great opportunity to meet other new mums in the same boat.” Parents will be able to get help and advice from the following organisations attending on the day: · Twins and Multiple Births Association · Cotton Tails Nappy Laundry Service · Teenage pregnancy advice · Breastfeeding councillors · Antenatal teachers · Postnatal team · Phoenix Cards · Sefton Early Years · Bottom Line Nappies · Heal Visitors & Baby Massage · Financial advice · TENS Hire · Linaker Primary and Children’s Centre · Bickiepegs · Usbourne Books · Fire Brigade · Kinderworld There will also be raffle prizes to be won and an area for parents to play with children. Parents will be able to tour the state-of-the-art maternity unit as well if they wish. Notes to Editors Woody is available to be interviewed about the subject either for the radio, TV or newspapers.
