Are you or a member of your family suffering from heart problems? Would you like to talk to someone who can offer advice? Why not come along to the Cardiac Drop In Centre at Ormskirk & District Hospital.

Delores McDonald, Cardiac Specialist Nurse holds informal sessions every Friday afternoon between 1.00 and 3.00 in Clinic 7 in the Outpatient Department. She can answer your questions and offer advice on the early identification of risk factors, on cholesterol, diet and lifestyle, on management of symptoms of angina and on cardiac rehabilitation. Delores also has videos on procedures such as Angiograms and Cardiac Surgery, and on stopping smoking. She also offers BP monitoring.

Delores said, I am available to people who are in between leaving the ward and their next consultation. I can help with advise on any medication worries that patients may have and advises people who are concerned about Angiograms. The drop in centre is open for all members of the family.
