Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust NIGHT TIME CLOSURE Of Adult Accident & Emergency Department Ormskirk & District General Hospital.

With effect from 1 February 2005 the Adult Accident & Emergency Department at Ormskirk & District General Hospital will close overnight from 11pm to 8am

When this department is closed you can attend one of the following A&E Departments that are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week:

Southport & Formby District General Hospital
University Hospital Aintree
Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan

The Children’s Accident & Emergency Department at Ormskirk & District General Hospital is not affected in any way by these changes and remains open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

How to find Southport & Formby District General Hospital

From the entrance to Ormskirk & District General Hospital, go along Wigan Road towards the town centre. Southport is well signposted from Ormskirk Town Centre on the A570. After about 7 miles along the A570 you will come to Tesco Supermarket on the left and a retail park on the right. Go straight ahead at the mini roundabout. At the next big roundabout take the second exit signposted to Liverpool A656 and Hospital A&E. At next mini roundabout bare right. The entrance to the hospital is ¼ mile on the right.
