What Have We Acheived So Far?
Patients referred by their GP to either Southport or Ormskirk over the last few months will have noticed something different – they are not having to wait so long for their outpatient appointment.
Patients referred into this Trust for an outpatient appointment now have to wait on average only five weeks.
Where patients then go on to be listed for a procedure as either an inpatient or a day case patient, they can expect to wait no longer than eight weeks in most specialties.
Another crucial factor
in achieving the maximum 18 week wait will be speedy access to our diagnostic
services where required; click here for more details of what we are
doing in this area.
Not only is this good
for patients but also puts the Trust in a good position for achieving the 18 week
referral to treatment goal.
This reduction in wait time has been delivered through the hard work of all our staff as part of a team approach.
